I was thinking, that while Jay is gone, we may as well partake in some more character development in the rooms, and can continue the escape when they return. It seems like the best, as to prevent this game from dying prematurely.

While I do agree with that, the game is way past 9 hours now, so unless Jay undoes that rule, any character development that happens wouldn't matter since everyone would die as soon as he comes back. Nice idea tho.
